The spacious inflatable family tent has blackout sleeping areas, a 6000mm waterproof flysheet and 20% more living space

Families planning a summer camping trip can save more than £350 on a spacious six-person Berghaus tent featuring inflatable beams and blackout bedrooms.

The Berghaus Air 600 Nightfall Tent is available for £448.97 at GO Outdoors, down from its £800 retail price. The 44% saving knocks £351.03 off the cost of the large family tent.

This is a member price, but joining GO Outdoors costs £5 per year. Someone taking out a new membership specifically for the offer would therefore spend £453.97 in total, which remains more than £346 below the stated retail price.

Designed to sleep six people, the Berghaus Air 600 Nightfall measures 730cm long, 250cm wide and 215cm high when pitched. That generous headroom should make moving around the living area and bedrooms more comfortable, especially during longer family breaks.

Instead of traditional tent poles, it uses high-performance inflatable beams that can be filled using the supplied two-way stirrup pump. Spring-loaded quick-release valves help speed up deflation when it is time to pack everything away.

The updated angled beam construction provides 20% more usable living space than previous generations, according to the retailer. This gives campers additional room for chairs, a table, luggage and other equipment without increasing the tent’s stated footprint unnecessarily.

A major attraction of this six-person Berghaus tent is its removable Nightfall bedrooms. Blackout linings reduce early morning light, which could help adults and children sleep beyond sunrise during bright summer mornings. A divider allows the sleeping compartment to be separated, while mesh and roll-away doors offer ventilation and protection from insects.

The lounge has extra-large windows with adjustable curtains, so campers can alter the balance of light and privacy throughout the day. Large organisers below the windows, living-area pockets and storage compartments inside each bedroom provide places to keep smaller belongings within reach.

British weather can turn quickly, even in the middle of camping season. The discounted Berghaus Air 600 tent has a 6000mm hydrostatic-head flysheet intended to withstand heavy rain, snow and wind. Its flysheet, inner tent and groundsheet are fire-retardant and tested to the European EN 5912 safety standard.

Other weather-conscious details include fully taped seams, a sewn-in groundsheet and a rain hood above the side entrance. High- and low-level vents form part of an airflow system designed to help freshness and manage condensation, while mesh doors can keep insects out without completely closing off ventilation.

Electric hook-up access is positioned on both sides of the tent, with Velcro cable tidies leading towards a lantern point. The package also includes four corner stake pegs, steel round-wire pegs, a valve tightener and a repair kit.

At 26.5kg, this is firmly a car-camping tent rather than something intended for carrying over long distances. It packs into a robust wheeled bag measuring 48cm by 48cm by 86cm, with adjustable buckles to make transportation and storage more manageable.

GO Outdoors lists 12 customer reviews for the blue tent. Campers who need more covered space can also add a compatible Berghaus Air Tent Porch Space, although that extension is sold separately.

The £448.97 member price and availability may change, while shoppers without an existing GO Outdoors membership will need to factor in the £5 annual fee.
