After years of testing everything from pricey Ninjas to budget models, there’s one air fryer I recommend above all others – and it’s on offer

I've spent several years testing air fryers. From £300 Ninja specials to £30 bargain buckets, I've lived with loads of them - but the one I currently keep in my kitchen is the Salter Verticook View.

In fact, people often ask me which air fryer I'd recommend and, before they can talk me through their budget and requirements, I often interrupt them with: "Just buy the Salter Verticook View".

It's not the cleverest air fryer, it's not the most powerful air fryer, it doesn't have the largest capacity, and it certainly isn't the most expensive - but it is a great all-rounder.

It adopts the clever new design format of stacking two baskets on top of one another, which has become something of a hot trend in 2025, but the Salter stands out above the competition for a few reasons.

Firstly, it has windows. Opt for the "View" version and you get clear panes on each basket. This is an absolute essential for me, because I often cook by eye rather than rely on timers. And I find timers to be fairly useless for certain food types anyway.

It also has a really clear, neat control panel. Unlike some vertical air fryers it's on the side, so it doesn't add to the height, but it's easy to use with a single rotary knob for the main functions. I also think it's very attractive.

And then there's the price. While Ninja's Double Stack - the one that kicked off this new design trend - can cost nearly £300, the Salter Verticook View costs just £119.99.

Only it's the Black Friday weekend, so if you can buy one before the end of Cyber Monday, you can buy one for £74.99. And that is such a bargain for one of the best air fryers in the business.
