The compact 80W cooling unit combines oscillating airflow, a four-litre water tank and remote controls for less than £44
A compact air cooler designed for bedrooms, offices and living spaces has been reduced by 66%, bringing its price down from £129.99 to £43.99.
The Neo 4L oscillating air cooler and humidifier is currently available through Wowcher in black, with the white version already listed as sold out. Standard customers can pick it up for £43.99, while Wowcher VIP members are shown a lower price of £39.59. Delivery starts from £4.99.
The deal comes at a useful time for anyone trying to make a warm bedroom, conservatory or home office more comfortable without buying a full air-conditioning unit. According to the listing, the 80W air cooler combines a fan, water tank and humidifying function to produce cooler-feeling airflow around smaller rooms.
Its 4L water tank feeds a honeycomb cooling pad, while two included ice-pack containers can be chilled before use to help lower the temperature of the air passing through the unit. Unlike a standard desk fan, the Neo cooler circulates air through the damp cooling pad, which can make the breeze feel more refreshing in hot and dry conditions.
It is worth noting that this type of product is an evaporative air cooler rather than a refrigerated air-conditioning system. It is intended to cool the person and immediate room area rather than reduce the temperature of an entire home. That distinction may matter to buyers expecting the same performance as a portable air-conditioning unit costing several hundred pounds.
The oscillating air cooler has three speed settings, allowing users to select low, medium or high airflow depending on whether they are working, relaxing or trying to sleep. Its automatic swing function distributes the breeze across a wider area instead of directing it towards one fixed spot.
A remote control is included, so the power, speed and oscillation settings can be adjusted from a bed, desk or sofa. There is also an onboard control panel, meaning the cooling unit can still be operated without the remote.
Despite holding four litres of water, the cooler has a relatively narrow footprint. It measures 24.5cm wide, 26cm deep and 57.5cm tall, making it easier to position beside furniture than many larger cooling appliances. Its maximum quoted airflow is 270 cubic metres per hour.
The listing describes the copper motor as low noise, although no specific decibel rating is provided. Buyers primarily interested in overnight use may therefore want to consider their own sensitivity to fan noise before ordering the Neo air cooler.
At the time the deal information was supplied, the cooler had a rating of 4.3 out of five from three reviews, while Wowcher said 792 units had been bought. The listing also stated that eight people had purchased the offer that day, although availability, prices and sales figures can change.
With the black model currently listed at £43.99 rather than £129.99, anyone looking for a compact alternative to a basic fan can view the 4L oscillating air cooler deal through Wowcher.
