Greggs and easyJet have teamed up to launch five new Sausage Roll dips

Greggs and easyJet have teamed up to launch five new sausage roll dips to celebrate much-loved holiday destinations.

The partnership, which is celebrating the airline's new base in Newcastle International Airport, brings the chance for holidaymakers to taste their way around the world. Italy’s silky affogato boasts deep roasted coffee, cocoa and vanilla, while France’s tangy tarte tatin blends caramelised apple, warm cinnamon and a hint of thyme.

Travellers can also explore bolder flavours, with Tunisia-inspired harissa ketchup combining rich tomato, sweet date and tangy pomegranate, alongside a snappy Spanish sangria bursting with red wine, zesty orange and cranberry.

Rounding off the lineup is a Turkish-style saucy kebab, with aromatic notes of lemon, vinegar and smoky paprika for a final hit of flavour at 30,000 feet.

The collaboration marks the launch of easyJet’s new base at Newcastle International Airport, which will be home to three aircrafts, supporting around 1,200 jobs, including 140 direct roles for pilots and cabin crew.

Garry Wilson, CEO for the airline’s holidays business, said: “We’re thrilled to be launching a new base in Newcastle, driven by the strong demand for our flights and package holidays in the region.

“This is a major milestone for us, so partnering with Greggs, a true Geordie icon and one of the city’s most famous exports, felt like the perfect way to celebrate our arrival.”

easyJet cabin crew have been serving up a taste of their new destinations at some of Newcastle’s most famous landmarks, including the Tyne Bridge, St James’ Park and the Angel of the North.

Holidaymakers who flew from Newcastle International Airport with the airline on Monday were treated to the bake and destination inspired dipping sauces for free.

Throughout the week, Geordies have a chance to get their hands on the free limited edition dipping sauces, with a sausage roll from a cabin crew service landing in Newcastle city centre across Grey's Monument, St James’ Park and Quayside.

Garry Wilson added: “Offering sausage rolls onboard and out in the streets is our way of thanking the North East as we continue to make travel from their local airport easy and affordable.”

Newcastle is easyJet’s 11th UK base opening, following the launch of London Southend Airport last year and Birmingham in 2024. The new base provides over 800,000 seats for holiday customers to choose from when planning their getaways.

More than 80 flights each week are now on offer to 22 leisure destinations across Europe and North Africa – an 85% increase vs. last summer. This includes new routes taking off to Antalya, Corfu, Dalaman, Enfidha, Faro, Lisbon, Malta, Prague, Reus, Rhodes, Rome, Sharm El Sheikh, Nice and Tenerife.

Hannah Squirrell, customer director at Greggs, said: “As a business born and bred in the North East, we’re excited to be partnering with easyJet to mark the launch of their new base in Newcastle. This is a fantastic opportunity for the local community, and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate than with a Sausage Roll.”
