KFC bids to extend drive-thru opening hours as fast food chain addresses car noise near homes
A fast-food chain has applied to extend its drive-through opening hours into the early morning hours between Fareham and Gosport.
KFC wants to be able supply fried chicken to its customers at Fareham Trade Park, Lederle Lane, until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights, and midnight the rest of the week.
Franchisee Clokken Limited has submitted a planning application to Gosport Borough Council, asking to vary previously approved plans.

As part of the application, Ned Johnson Acoustic Consultant Ltd was commissioned to carry out a noise assessment between the hours of 10.45pm and 2am on November 22/23, 2025.
It assessed how extending KFC’s opening hours would impact local residents.
The nearest homes are 54 metres away, on roads opposite the site on both Lederle Lane and Fareham Road.
It found that Fareham Trade Park is already a busy location, and Lederle Lane was impacted by “road traffic on the local road network” and the A32.
The report concluded that the noise from cars parking and using the drive-through at KFC would not affect the nearest residential homes.
Planning chiefs will make a decision on the application by February 11.
