Watch the moment a 'mini-tornado' ripped through Leigh Park - and took a trampoline with it
“I’ve never experienced anything like it” one neighbour said.
The weather so far this summer has been largely the same every day - dry, with varying levels of heat.
We are currently in the fifth official heat wave of the summer, with temperatures set to spike above 30 degrees Celsius in Portsmouth and the surrounding area next week.
For the most part, a light breeze while out in the baking hot sun has been a pleasant reprieve for all of us. But a sudden burst of high-speed wind today (August 6) caused a little bit of chaos up in Havant.

Halfway through the afternoon, a strong gust of wind struck Dunsbury Way, Leigh Park, battering trees and gardens. It left just as quickly as it had arrived, but certainly left its mark on some neighbours.
Contacting The News on Facebook, Tory Bessey said: “We had a mini-tornado rip through our garden, [it] took the trampoline, the wood chips were swirling, [and it] took my neighbours roof off.
“It was so calm and then this rush came through, if you look through the gap [on the video] you can seee my trampoline flying.”
