Met Office gives verdict on chance of snow in Portsmouth this week
SNOW has been falling in parts of the UK over the last 24 hours.
Temperatures plunged to as low as -4C in northern areas on Monday night.
Showers are expected to arrive in western England and parts of Wales later in the day.

Yellow weather warnings have been issued for large swaths of the country – however there are none in place for Portsmouth or Hampshire at this time.
The News decided to ask the Met Office about the chance of snow falling in our area over the coming days, but it is not looking positive if you are hoping for a snow day.
A spokeswoman for the forecaster said: ‘Portsmouth will see sunny spells and showers today, while tomorrow looks a little drier, but no risk of snow.’
According to the Met Office’s latest forecast, the weather is turning milder for southern England, and the UK as whole, over the coming days.
Here’s the outlook for the rest of the week in Portsmouth:
Tuesday – Sunny changing to overcast by lunchtime – highs of 7C
Wednesday – Clear changing to cloudy by lunchtime – highs of 10C
Thursday – Overcast – highs of 11C
Friday – Overcast changing to light rain by late morning – 11C
Saturday – Light rain changing to overcast by late morning – 11C
Sunday – Heavy rain changing to cloudy in the afternoon – 12C
