"Heavy rain" covers Portsmouth in Met Office weather warning with thunderstorms possible - hourly forecast

Wet and windy conditions have been forecast for much of Portsmouth after a weather warning was issued.
A Met Office yellow alert for heavy rain is in place over the Portsmouth are and much of the south coast of England. The warning is due to end at 2pm today.
“Heavy rain and strong winds will move northeast through the first part of Wednesday, followed by heavy showers and some thunderstorms, these becoming more isolated through the afternoon,” the forecaster said.
“Rainfall totals widely 20-30 mm, but some places could see 40-60 mm within a period of six-nine hours. Coastal gales are likely for a time, especially along English Channel coasts.”
Weather conditions have already been causing problems. Part of Eastern Road is currently shut due to a burst sewer main, with Southern Water engineers deployed to fix the problem.
