Will we have a White Christmas in Portsmouth this winter? Latest forecast and chances of snow
A sunny Christmas is more likely to be on the cards for Portsmouth this year than a White Christmas, making picture-postcard scenes across Hampshire unlikely.
The long range weather forecast for the city and wider Hampshire area is predicting temperatures will sit in the low teens for the remainder of the month, which will be largely wet and windy.
However, according to the latest forecasts the weather is expected to be dry and sunny on Christmas Day, with temperatures of around 11 degrees. This means that unless the weather front drastically changes, the chances of there being a White Christmas in Portsmouth or across the wider Hampshire area at only five percent.
The weather is expected to be similar in the week between Christmas and New Year and into 2026.
