A sunny Christmas is more likely to be on the cards for Portsmouth this year than a White Christmas, making picture-postcard scenes across Hampshire unlikely.
According to the latest forecasts the weather is expected to be dry and sunny in Portsmouth on Christmas Day, with temperatures of around five degrees - with a chillier start to the day. Further inland across the county the temperature will be a degree or two colder.
This means that unless the weather front drastically changes, the chances of there being a White Christmas in Portsmouth or across the wider Hampshire area at only five percent unless we have some unexpected flurry.
The weather is expected to be similar in the week between Christmas and New Year and into 2026 - making the weather at least perfect for walks.
