Two 'strangers' seen hanging around speaking to children outside Fareham school as warning issued

The school sent a message to parents about the strangers earlier in the day.

A school has issued a warning to parents and pupils after two men were spotted approaching students outside the premises.

Today (Wednesday, September 2) marked the first day of the new academic year at Wallisdean School in Wallisdean Avenue, Fareham. However, some pupils reportedly received an unpleasant surprise from a pair of strangers.

In a message sent to parents around lunchtime, a spokesperson for the school said: “We have received reports of two men hanging around the park area and attempting to speak to children.

“As a school, we have spoken to the children about this. Please could we ask that you also speak to your children at home to reinforce the message.

“We are sharing this information as a precaution so that everyone can remain vigilant and help keep our children safe. Thank you for your support.”

The Wallisdean school premises includes a pre-school, infants, and junior school, with hundreds of pupils coming through the gates each day.
