Southsea couple get shock after looking out window to see their car propping up vehicle on pavement after mystery crash
A COUPLE who spotted two cars entangled on the pavement outside their house got a shock when they realised it was their vehicle propping up the other car while on its roof following a mystery crash this evening.
The collision left a dark blue Vauxhall Astra marooned on its roof, propping up a silver Peugeot car, which had its front end crunched into the road with the rest of the vehicle overhanging the pedestrian area.
The incident, attended to by police, happened just feet from the front doors of houses in Warren Avenue, Southsea, at around 6.30pm.

Darren Sullivan, 54, told The News he and his partner were left stunned after realising their car had been involved in the crash. ‘Me and my wife were indoors when we heard some scraping, which sounded like a wheelie bin getting dragged along the road.
‘We went out and looked and there was a car piggy-backed onto another car. Then my wife said: “That’s our car underneath.”
‘We were bewildered and in disbelief.’
But Mr Sullivan, who saw the funny side of the bizarre episode, added: ‘It’s a car and no one was hurt. Worse things happen. At least the back windscreen wiper is still working.’

Both cars were later towed away.
