Relief after 'terrified' dog on M27 is caught by motorists and firefighters
A DOG is back in safe hands after running onto a motorway yesterday evening.
Firefighters were called to the M27 last night after Tyson, a chow chow dog, found his way onto the road near junction 10 for Fareham.
Before anything bad could happen, motorists formed a barrier around the dog, with one woman securing the terriefied canine with her scarf.
Firefighters have praised the woman and other motorists for their heroism.

Firefighter Hugh Walker said: ‘It was certainly a bizarre incident to be called to.
‘We got the call at around 8.30pm. Two crews went out and the dog was successfully recovered. Thankfully, nobody was injured.’
Firefighter Walker says the crews were not at the scene for long, but had to act swiftly.
Crew Manager Curtis Miles added: ‘Adopting a fend of position with the trucks to close two lanes of the motorway we liaised with members of the public, assessed the dog for injuries and requested the attendance of the police for assistance.’
