Multi-vehicle crash on M27 near Fareham
ALL lanes have now reopened on the M27 eastbound following a multi-vehicle crash involving a lorry and two cars – but queues of more than four miles remain.
Emergency services remain on the scene and the vehicles are in the process of being recovered after the crash this morning.
A spokesman for Hampshire police said: ‘We were called out at 7.15am this morning (October 8) following reports of a three-vehicle collision on the M27 eastbound between junction nine and junction 10.
‘A collision occurred between an arctic lorry, a blue Mazda and a white Volkswagen; causing two live lanes of traffic to be blocked.
‘Emergency services are on-scene and the vehicles are in the process of being recovered, but no injuries have been reported.’
Delays of 40 minutes had formed when the two lanes were blocked as a result of the incident.
In a tweet National Highways said: ‘All lanes are now open on the #M27 eastbound between J9 #Whiteley and J10 #Fareham. There is 4.7 miles of residual congestion so please allow time for these delays to clear. Thanks for your patience.’

Earlier Hampshire’s traffic monitoring body, Romanse, tweeted: ‘M27 Eastbound - Lane 1 and 3 are BLOCKED J9/A27 #ParkGate and J10/A32 #Fareham due to a multi-vehicle RTC, heavy delays building.’
