Man in his 20s suffers injury in Fareham crash
PHOTOGRAPHS and an eyewitness account have shown the horror of a crash in Fareham in the early hours of this morning.
Residents in Gosport Road were woken up by a ‘massive bang’ at around 6.45am this morning, opening their curtains to see a Kia vehicle crashed on its side.
The driver of the vehicle, a man in his 20s, was trapped inside.

Resident Carla Hodgson was one of those who saw the incident – and her husband Jason rushed out of the house to help the driver.
She said: ‘Lots of residents heard the collision and were out in seconds.
‘I grabbed my hubby and he ran out in his pyjamas and bare feet, climbed on top, another neighbour held the door ajar and he climbed in to support the injured driver, another neighbour laid on the floor speaking to driver through his window.
‘The guy was awake, bless him, but we all looked after him until emergency services arrived on the scene.’

Mrs Hodgson added that the roof was taken off by firefighters and the driver was put into the back of an ambulance.
He was taken to hospital and the road has since been reopened.
A spokesman from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘We received the call at 7.04am from the ambulance service.
‘We sent two appliances from Fareham Fire Station to the scene.

‘It was a single vehicle incident and the car was on its side – there was one male casualty trapped so he was extracted by the fire crew.’
A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: ‘It was a Kia Ceed 3 that ended up on it's side at the junction of Gosport Road and Salterns Road in Fareham.
‘It was a minor injury to the driver in the end. He was the only person in the car and in his mid-20s.
‘He was taken to hospital.’
