Man, 72, taken to QA Hospital after Mini overturns in Waterlooville crash
A MAN was taken to hospital as a ‘precaution’ after a Mini flipped onto its side during a crash in Waterlooville.
Emergency services were called to the junction of Silvester Road and Milton Road at about 6.25pm last night following a multi-vehicle collision.
A Mini involved in the crash overturned and landed on its side.
Fire crews helped to free the 72-year-old driver from the car as he had become trapped.
He was then taken to Queen Alexandra Hospital in Cosham as a precautionary measure.
A spokeswoman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said: ‘Firefighters from Cosham, Waterlooville and Horndean were mobilised at 18:21 last night to Silvester Road, Waterlooville.
‘There was an RTC involving one vehicle which was on its side.

‘A 72-year-old male was extricated by HFRS and passed into the care of SCAS.
‘Police were also on scene and the stop message came in at 19:18.’
A South Central Ambulance Service spokesman added: ‘We sent an ambulance and a paramedic team leader in a rapid response vehicle to the incident.
‘The driver was released from the vehicle with the help of the fire and rescue service, and whilst he did not appear to have sustained any injuries, he was taken to the QA Hospital for further assessment as a precaution.’
Hants Road Policing also attended the scene on Monday evening.
They tweeted: ‘Not sure what really happened but we don't think this was the #miniadventure that the manufacturer thought about in their advertising.
‘No serious injury and assisted by a very keen Hampshire Fire and Rescue.’
