Trespasser between Havant and Barnham train stations causes havoc for commuters

Commuters face delays

Railway passengers are being warned of delays this morning after a trespasser was discovered on the tracks.

Southern Rail confirmed that all lines between Barnham and Havant came to a standstill for approximately 30 minutes due to a trespasser who has now been removed from the area.

The train service wrote on its social media: “The police have apprehended the trespasser and both lines between Havant and Barnham will re-open shortly. Delays and service changes are likely even after lines re-open so please check journey planners or station information screens for updated train information.”

The incident has impacted services running to Portsmouth, Southampton, London, Horsham and Brighton, with delays of 30 minutes, cancellations and revised timetables anticipated.

Disruptions are expected to last until 10am.
