Train delays: Railway lines 'running normally' to and from Portsmouth after communication fault
Trains across the south coast were delayed and cancelled due to a communication problem.
Trains are back on schedule after a massive communications fault, according to reports.
Earlier today (Tuesday, May 19), an issue with communication systems struck the entire railway network in the south, affecting trains running to and from Portsmouth. This was sparked by an issue between trains and signallers between London Waterloo and Reading.

Initially, South Western Railway (SWR) feared that disruption would continue past 6pm today - but has since reported that trains are back to running as planned.
Posting on X, a spokesperson said: “Trains are now running normally following issues with communication systems and there should be no further delays to your journey.
“If you were delayed by 15 minutes or more, you may be entitled to claim compensation.”
A spokesperson for Southern Rail added: “The fault with the radio system has been rectified, and service is recovering.
“Services will be subject to residual disruption as a result, and you should continue to allow additional time to complete your journey.”
