Signalling fault results in major disruption and no train services running to Portsmouth Harbour

Passengers are being plagued with significant disruption across train services this morning due to a signalling fault.

Southern Rail have taken to social media this morning (December 1) to confirm a signalling fault from yesterday continues to cause problems with no services running to Portsmouth Harbour.

The post says: “Southern services are unable to run between Fratton and Portsmouth Harbour and there will be a reduced service between Chichester and Havant.

“South Western Railway are unable to run between Portsmouth & Southsea and Portsmouth Harbour.

“Please use local bus routes between Portsmouth & Southsea and Portsmouth Harbour. Alternatively, you can walk between these stations which is approximately a 20 minute walk.”

Southern has also confirmed that there will be a reduced service running between Chichester and Havant today.

This comes after the service announced ‘some lines’ were blocked yesterday afternoon due to the fault, causing delays of 30 minutes.
