Signal fault at Portsmouth Harbour results in 'queue of trains' with passengers warned to expect delays
Lines are blocked with some services cancelled
Railway commuters are being warned to expect delays this morning with a signalling fault affecting services in the Portsmouth area.
Trains are currently unable to run between Portsmouth Harbour and Portsmouth & Southsea on Thursday, July 16 which has resulted in a “queue of trains”.
Services are expected to be affected until 9am with delays of at least 20 minutes.

A spokesperson for Southern said; “Services are delayed in the Portsmouth area, and there is a queue of trains between Portsmouth and Fratton. You should allow an extra 20 minutes for your journey, and if you are travelling to Portsmouth Harbour you may need to use an alternative route.
“You can use your Southern ticket on South Western Railway services between Portsmouth and Havant at no extra cost.”
Services to and from Portsmouth Harbour may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.
