Police update over motorbike crash on A27 causing blockage

Drivers suffered delays following the incident at the Portfield Roundabout on Chichester Bypass reported around 3.30pm on Wednesday.

AA Traffic News previously said: “Partially blocked and queueing traffic due to crash, a car and a motorbike involved on A27 Chichester Bypass eastbound at A285 Portfield Way.”

Sussex Police have now given an update on the incident with the force suggesting only a motorbike was involved. A force spokesperson said: “Police were called to Portfield Roundabout on the A27 at Chichester at about 3.20pm on 11 February.

“A rider had come off his motorcycle and suffered minor injuries. He was taken to hospital to be assessed.”

The AA had said the crash caused “severe delays” in the area.
