Police intervene as woman spotted on wrong side of bridge railings above A27, prompting closure

At approximately 12.15am this morning (December 4), police received reports that a woman was standing on the wrong side of the railings on the bridge above the A27.

Officers closed the eastbound carriageway, near Emsworth, with support from National Highways, while emergency services worked at the scene.

The woman was moved away from the bridge and taken to hospital to receive the appropriate care.
