Motorcyclist hospitalised with injuries following crash on Fishbourne roundabout in Chichester, police confirm

Police officers and paramedics both raced to a single vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist on a major roundabout during rush hour yesterday evening (January 5).

Hampshire police initially responded to the incident with Sussex Police taking over shortly after. They have confirmed that a motorcyclist was taken to hospital with injuries and the lane was reopened just before 6.30pm.

As a result of the crash, one lane was closed on the Fishbourne Roundabout, Chichester, and there was approximately five miles of congestion on the eastbound carriageway of the A27.

National Highways South East wrote to X yesterday, saying: “1 lane (of 2) is closed on the #FishbourneRoundabout at #Chichester following a single vehicle collision @HantsPolice and @SECAmbulance are working at scene Delays of 45 minutes and approx. 5 miles congestion on the #A27 eastbound on approach.”

Police are not appealing for any further information at this time.
