Man in 80s dies in fatal crash with Portsmouth man sustaining serious injuries - police launch appeal

Police officers were called at 2.40pm yesterday afternoon (November 10) following a report of a crash involving a blue Kia Sportage and a white Vauxhall Vivaro van on Sway Road, New Milton.

Emergency services responded to the scene but they have confirmed the driver of the Kia, a man in his 80s from Sway, died at the scene.

The van driver, a man in his 30s from Portsmouth, sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries - and the police are now appealing for dash cam footage.

A spokesperson for the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said: “Officers would like to hear from any witnesses who were driving in the area at the time. Did you witness the incident, or do you have any dashcam footage which could help our enquiries?

“We would also like to thank motorists for their patience as Sway Road and Marks Lane were both closed to allow emergency services to work at the scene.”
