A motorway crash saw a carriageway closed and has caused long delays for drivers

A crash saw one side of a motorway closed and there are still delays of about 50 minutes.

The collision took place on the westbound - Southampton-bound - side of the M3 between Junction 8 and Junction 9. National Highways says that one lane of the two has now reopened but that there are three miles of queues and delays of 50 minutes.

Police said they were called just before midday today and that four vehicles collided. One person was taken to hospital by South Central Ambulance Service after reporting minor injuries.
