M27 roadworks: When will work at Junction 10 be completed as Hampshire County Council shares update
For commuters, it might feel like roadworks on the M27 have been going on forever.
Work to turn the M27 into a smart motorway began in 2018, with a £1.5bn project to create an extra lane between Junction 4 and Junction 11.
Since then, the motorway has been a myriad of traffic cones, hastily-painted white lines and concrete barriers, with 50mph zones adding more time to people’s journeys.
But a separate project at Junction 10 is reportedly progressing well, and is on-track to be completed as scheduled.

More than £100m has been pumped into Junction 10 at Wickham, to bring forward the development of Welborne Garden Village to the north of the motorway. Over Christmas last year, a new concrete structure was slid into position to create a new “all-ways” junction.
This work is due to be completed in winter 2026, according to Hampshire County Council.
A spokesperson for the county council said: “Good progress continues to be made on site, with no delays to date. While we’re not yet able to confirm a final completion date, we hope to be in a position to provide one later this spring.
“We understand everyone is keen to know when the scheme will fully reopen, and we appreciate their patience.”
New roundabouts at what will become the new Junction 10 are also beginning to take shape.
