M27 crash near where emergency repairs being carried out

A crash has taken place on the M27 near where emergency repairs were being carried out.

AA Traffic News said a lane had been closed just before 5am for the repairs eastbound between junction 4 and 5. Now a crash has been reported nearby at around 8am.

“One lane closed due to crash on M27 eastbound from J5 A335 Stoneham Way (Southampton Airport / Eastleigh) to J7 A334 Charles Watts Way (Hedge End). Traffic is coping well,” the AA said.

AA Traffic News said of the repairs: “One lane closed due to emergency repairs on M27 eastbound at J4 M3. In lane one (of four).”

National Highways said work being carried out was for “road management” between junction 4 and 5.
