Hayling Island Bridge now reopened after closure caused huge traffic delays
The area around Hayling Island and Havant has been gridlocked
Hayling Island Bridge has reopened after it was closed earlier this morning (April 18) following reports for the welfare of a man.
Police were called at 8.56am about the concerns for the man on the Langstone Road bridge to Hayling Island and confirmed it was closed while emergency services attended, including police, who engaged with him.
“The man was subsequently brought safely into the care of the ambulance service,” a police spokesman confirmed.
The closure led to huge traffic delays on Hayling Island and around Havant, however these are now starting to clear after the bridge was reopened.
