Here’s why traffic was held both ways on the M27.

A police car was spotted slowly swerving across eastbound lanes before bringing traffic to a stop near junction 9 around 10am.

Then, on the westbound side moments later, several police vehicles were seen holding traffic.

A force spokesperson said: “Both of these incidents were related to broken down vehicles.”
