"Hampshire's worst road" set to be repaired with road closures to tackle huge potholes
Repair work is due to begin along a portion of "Hampshire's worst road" with five night’s of road closures planned to tackle huge potholes.
London Road in Widley is set to be closed between Park Avenue and Lily Avenue between 8pm and 6am for five nights starting Tuesday (March 24) as Hampshire County Council repairs the multiple deep potholes which have plagued that section of the road.

The road, also known as the old A3, has been dubbed as the worse road in the county by many readers of the News who have pointed to the multiple potholes throughout both Widley and Purbrook.
A number of temporary patchwork repairs have been carried out on other parts of the carriageway in recent months, with this section often reported as the most cause for concern.
To report a pothole visit www.portsmouth.gov.uk/all-tasks/report/ if it is inside Portsmouth or www.hants.gov.uk/transport/highways/report-a-problem/potholes if it is elsewhere in Hampshire (excluding Southampton).
