Hampshire traffic: M27 reopened following multi-vehicle crash at junction 5

All lanes have reopened on a major motorway following a multi-vehicle crash.

National Highways South East reported the eastbound route of the M27 was shut following an incident earlier this evening. The transport body said multiple vehicles were involved in an incident near junction 5.

Motorists were diverted away from where the crash took place. National Highways reports that this has now been cleared. They said: “Both vehicles involved have been recovered and the #M27 within J5 #Swaythling @SOU_Airportis now open No significant delays are reported on approach, thank you for your patience”

Hampshire County Council Traffic & Travel (HCCTT) reported that traffic was backed up to junction 3 of the M27. Hampshire Roads Policing Unit were deployed to the scene.
