First phase of revamped junction 10 of M27 opens to the public
The first new slip road has opened to the public
The brand new underpass at junction 10 of the M27 has been used by the public for the first time this morning as part of the phased opening of the revamped junction.
The new-look westbound slip road exiting the motorway has now opened to traffic, replacing the old ‘loop’ off-slip and connects to the newly-constructed underpass sitting underneath the motorway created at the end of last year.
It is the first time public traffic has used it with the whole junction with the new eastbound off-slip and westbound on-slip are expected to open in autumn 2026. The eastbound on-slip has remained open through the project.

The new dual carriageway (to be known as the A32/A3222 link road) through the underpass will now initially operate with a single lane in one direction (northbound), providing a new route for traffic travelling towards Fareham, Wickham and the surrounding local road network.
This arrangement will allow the remaining works, including landscaping and footway completion, to be carried out safely.

For Dean Farm, access will be made available at Welborne Approach Roundabout for traffic travelling from the new westbound off-slip road, as well as for vehicles travelling from A32 Fareham and Wickham.
Temporary speed limits and lane restrictions will remain in place on the M27 between Junctions 9 and 11 while final safety checks, including technology testing, are completed. These restrictions are expected to remain in place until winter 2026.
The whole project to upgrade the junction, costing in excess of £100m, has been led by Hampshire County Council and funded by the Buckland Group, developer of Welborne Garden Village, and Homes England.
