The force posted to Facebook saying: “One very lucky driver on the A272 Langrish this morning. Thankfully only a minor hand injury but the fallen tree is why some drivers were delayed this morning.”

The police have also thanked two members of the public who used their cranes to move the tree off of the road so that it could be re-opened quickly.

The road closure also resulted in a HGV getting stuck while trying to turn around to avoid sitting in the queueing traffic, with the two cranes further helping to assist the driver.
