M27 Junction 10: Long wait almost over with date unveiled for when rest of new-look junction to open to traffic
After more than a year of works the junction will finally be completely open soon
Drivers will soon have full access to the M27 at Junction 10, with a new “all-moves” junction set to finish its phased opening.
From Monday, October 12, motorists wanting to join the M27 westbound and leave eastbound at the junction near Wickham and Welborne will be able to for the first time, completing the new link between the A32/A3222 and the motorway.

Hampshire County Council said the junction will be open earlier than planned, marking a major milestone for the project. The firs phase of the junction and new roundabouts opened last month.
The new dual carriageway through the underpass, known as the A32/A3222 link road, will initially operate with one lane in each direction while final works, including landscaping, are completed. This will allow the remaining work to be carried out safely while keeping the route open to traffic.
Traffic management, including temporary speed limits and lane restrictions between M27 Junctions 9 and 11, is expected to remain in place until early 2027 while National Highways completes final safety checks and technology testing.

An additional lane providing access to the eastbound M27 on-slip is expected to open in early winter 2026.
The £100 million scheme has been in progress since 2024, and will give motorists new direct links between the M27 and Fareham, Wickham, Whiteley, Southampton and Portsmouth.
Around 30,000 vehicles a day are expected to use the completed junction, Hampshire County Council said.
