A27 crash: Delays building after incident near Emsworth - is there an alternative route to take?
Drivers are reporting huge delays on the dual carriageway this morning.
Motorists travelling towards Portsmouth have been met with major delays on the A27 this morning.
An incident on the westbound carriageway, just before the Emsworth junction, has sparked a build-up of cars, stretching back towards Southbourne and Woodmancote.
According to eyewitness reports, a BMW was seen written off at the scene of the incident, while a lorry is also thought to have been involed.
The exact nature of the incident is unknown at the time of publication, and if motorists have joined the A27 at Fishbourne, there is no way to avoid traffic.
Motorists coming from Chichester are advised to use Fishbourne Road West instead of getting onto the dual carriageway, with the road taking them through Fishbourne, Nutbourne, Southbourne and Emsworth before getting back on the A27.
