A27 Closure: Delays and disruption expected as Langstone Interchange to be closed this weekend
Reminder to drivers to plan ahead with journey times ‘likely’ to be longer than usual
A stretch of a busy A-road in Hampshire will be closed this weekend for essential safety and maintenance work.
There have been closures throughout September as work is carried out on the Langstone Interchange on the A27. This weekend will see closures on the westbound carriageway from 9pm on Saturday, September 26 until 6am on Monday, September 28 for bridge safety works.
As well as the Langstone Interchange, the westbound carriageway from Emsworth to Bedhampton will also be closed overnight from 9pm to 6am and 6pm to 6am on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

A National Highways spokesperson said: “We're reminding drivers that the A27 westbound will be closed at Langstone Interchange from 9pm on Saturday, September 26 until 6am on Monday, September 28 while bridge safety work continues.
“To help keep congestion to a minimum during major events we've adjusted our programme and delayed the start of this closure until 9pm on Saturday. This should help reduce the impact on visitors travelling home from the final day of the Southampton Boat Show.
“Diversion routes will be clearly signed, but journeys are likely to take longer than usual so please plan ahead before travelling.”
More details on the closures can be found on the National Highways website.
