Portsmouth is named one of the best family fun areas, according to new Argos research

New research has revealed the best family friendly UK cities
New findings has highlighted the best family friendly cities in the country - and this Hampshire spot has made the list.
Argos’s UK Summer Hotspots Index has analysed 84 towns and cities across the country to reveal the ‘family fun capitals’.
The research looked at factors including the cost of a family day out, access to parks and green spaces, child-friendly museums and local interest in family activities, with each place receiving a score out of 100.
Sat in fourth place is Portsmouth with an impressive score of 51.7/100 with the study showing residents have access to 3.22 parks, public gardens or playing fields within a 1km radius. The city is also home to seven child-friendly museums making it among the top spots.
Residents and visitors can explore attractions including Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, the Spinnaker Tower and Portsmouth Natural History Museum.
