This is the Hampshire town where you get more bang for your buck
This Hampshire town is one of the best places for first time buyers to get on the property ladder.
New research, conducted by Pepper Money, has revealed the best places across the country to buy your first home after analysing over 300 locations using factors including rent, mortgage costs, house prices and earnings.
Middlesbrough ranked as the top location, scoring highly thanks to its lower-than-average house prices of £123,831, but two Hampshire areas have also featured on the list.

Gosport comes in ninth place with properties averaging £207,000 and monthly mortgage repayments sitting at approximately £1,014. Southampton has also bucked the trend of house prices in the south east of England, with properties costing £207,696, meaning monthly repayments will set first time buyers back by £1,018.
In the south east, Zoopla has reported there has been a -0.2 per cent annual change to house prices, with average prices sitting at £384,100 making it one of the most expensive places to buy a property in the UK outside of London.
