Sue Ryder Fratton Park Furniture closes after nearly 12 years
The space will reopen as an outdoor furniture showroom
A charity shop in Fratton has closed after nearly 12 years of business, and will soon be replaced with an outdoor furniture show room.
Customers said it was a “shame” that Sue Ryder Fratton Park Furniture closed its doors on Friday, September 25, after vending in the retail park for over a decade.
The shop unit will soon re-open in February 2027 as a showroom for the outdoor furniture company White Stores and will sell seating, outside kitchens and barbecues.

A spokesperson for Sue Ryder said: “We can confirm that our Fratton Park shop has closed due to the lease coming to an end.
“We would like to thank all our staff, volunteers, and customers for their support over the years.
“Shoppers can still support Sue Ryder by visiting our North End shop in London Road. Every sale and donation helps us to provide palliative care and bereavement support so that no one faces death or grief alone.
“We are also looking for new volunteers for the shop, and anyone interested can pop in and talk to the manager.”
