South Central Ambulance Charity searches for 40 brave people to complete Spinnaker abseil
A charity is searching for 40 people to take part in a white-knuckling abseil
Courageous fundraisers are being invited to take to the skies for a challenge with a view to support of South Central Ambulance Charity.
Every year, a handful of brave people face their fears by abseiling down Spinnaker Tower for causes close to their heart - and one day has been dedicated to raising vital funds for the South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS).
Daredevils will descend 100 metres down the side of the city’s landmark on Saturday, September 12, with the service looking for forty people to sign up and get involved in the charity event.

Funds raised through the event will help South Central Ambulance Charity continue its work supporting the wellbeing of ambulance staff and volunteers, enhancing patient care, improving community resilience and funding projects that go beyond NHS provision.
Vanessa Casey, chief executive at South Central Ambulance Charity, said: “We’re delighted to be bringing our Spinnaker Tower Abseil back in 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals, groups, families and businesses to take on an exciting challenge while supporting their local ambulance charity.
“Every pound raised helps us provide additional support, equipment and wellbeing initiatives that benefit our staff, volunteers, patients and communities across Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hampshire and Oxfordshire. We can’t wait to cheer our participants on as they take the leap for life.”
South Central Ambulance Charity supports the work of South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust by funding projects that enhance patient care, support staff and volunteers, improve community wellbeing and provide benefits beyond NHS funding.
No previous abseiling experience is needed and there is a fundraising target of £150 per person. For more information about how to register, click here.
