Sea of Santas to take to Southsea streets as Christmas fun run returns
Southsea will transform into a sea of red as hundreds of people dust off their running shoes in preparation for the annual Santa fun run.
Taking place on Saturday, December 20 between 10am and 12.30pm, the fun run, gives residents the perfect opportunity to spread Christmas cheer while raising money for multiple charities.
People are encouraged to dress up in their best festive costumes as they take on 5k and 10k distances around Southsea.
The event, which has been organised by Believe and Achieve Events since 2008, will be taken over by Pompey in the Community from next year as the event continues to prove a hit with locals.
South Central Ambulance Charity has guaranteed places at the event and is now on the hunt for people willing to run, walk or festively jingle their way to the finish line in Southsea.
Vanessa Casey, chief executive officer of the SCAS Charity, said: “We are enormously grateful to all our supporters who fundraise for us during the year. Taking part in one of these local Santa Runs is a great way to end the year and to support the ambulance service during its busiest time.
