Praise from business secretary

THE business secretary has backed investment being made in Havant after a visit to FatFace's recently-opened £5m distribution centre.

The clothing giant became the first company to move into the 45-acre Dunsbury Park last year, creating about 100 jobs.

MP Greg Clark '“ the government's secretary of state for business, energy and industrial strategy '“ visited the centre this month with his parliamentary private secretary Alan Mak, Havant's Conservative MP.

'˜FatFace's investment at Dunsbury Park is a big vote of confidence in Havant's economy and I was delighted to see new jobs being created,' said Mr Clark.

'˜Alan's dedication and hard work in making the case, and success in securing investment and economic growth in Havant and the wider Solent region is admired and respected.'

According to Mr Mak, unemployment in the Havant constituency is 2.1 per cent '“ well below the national average of 4.1 per cent among people aged 16 and over, recorded in September.
