Mrs Drummond gave a tour to the party of serving personnel from countries including St Vincent and the Grenadines, Zimbabwe, Dominica and Trinidad and Tobago.

The Portsmouth South MP said the sailors made an impact.

‘People in Westminster are used to seeing police and the uniformed palace staff but the smart turnout of the sailors caught the eye of other MPs as they toured Westminster,’ she said. ‘Commonwealth countries from across the globe make a massive contribution to our armed forces and the defence of our country and I was very proud to meet them in Parliament and I enjoyed explaining how Westminster works.’
