Beau was a fervent Pompey fan, and to accompany a tribute to him his family released a picture of him in a Pompey shirt.

Their statement, released on Friday, said: “Beau carried himself with a quiet confidence and kindness that never went unnoticed. Beau was Pompey’s number 1 fan. His favourite thing was to go to Fratton Park and following the Blues with his dad and grandad.”

Now Pompey have released a tribute. It says: “Everyone at Portsmouth Football Club was devastated to hear about the tragic death of Beau, who was a loyal and passionate Pompey fan. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this incredibly sad time.”

A GoFundMe set up to help Beau’s family through the coming months has at time of writing raised just under £15,000 of its £16,000 target.
