Welborne: New roundabouts take shape as development continues on new town north of Fareham
New roundabouts being built for the new town of Welborne are beginning to take shape
Drivers can now use a new roundabout in both directions after overnight work saw it open to traffic.
The Broadway roundabout is the first of four new roundabouts being built as part of the M27 Junction 10 improvement scheme to open, with further work to continue over the coming weeks, including the painting of road markings.
Elsewhere across the project, construction teams are continuing work on several key areas.
On the A32 Wickham Road, a new traffic island has been completed near Boundary Oak School.

Tactile paving, white road markings and footway improvements alongside the southbound carriageway are expected to be finished next month.
At the Broadway roundabout, white lining and road markings on the southbound lanes are also due to be completed next month.

Work is continuing at the High Street roundabout, where crews are carrying out kerbing and resurfacing works.

At the Welborne Approach roundabout, the centre of the junction has been covered with topsoil ahead of planting and landscaping, while surfacing of the carriageway has been completed.

Meanwhile, at the M27 Junction 10 roundabout, new kerbs have been installed and road surfacing work is underway.
Along the eastbound off-slip road, acoustic fencing is being installed to help reduce noise for nearby residents. On the westbound carriageway, environmental and safety fencing is also being put in place.
Work is also progressing on the new underpass. Kerbs are being installed on both sides, while construction of the central reservation continues.
Traffic signals and technology systems needed for the safe operation of the motorway are also being installed.
The M27 Junction 10 improvement scheme is designed to improve access to the area and support future development, with work continuing across multiple sections of the project in the months ahead.
