Voi e-bikes to be installed in Gosport - how many will there be and when are they arriving?

Dozens of e-bikes will soon be installed across Gosport, according to Hampshire County Council.

The e-bikes, installed in partnership with Voi, will be familiar to people who have ventured across the harbour into Portsmouth, where the upgraded bikes were installed in the city last year.

E-scooters have been in the city since 2022, but the company has not yet established a footing in the surrounding areas of Fareham, Havant and Gosport.

Via Hampshire County Council, that is soon about to change, with plans for up to 95 bikes to be installed around the borough, in a total of 21 locations.

Initially, the council had planned for these e-bikes to arrive in Gosport in October 2025, but delays to the scheme have pushed it back to spring this year.

A council spokesperson said: “Hampshire County Council remains committed to delivering the and Gosport e-bikeshare scheme, following the earlier decision to appoint Voi as the operating partner.

“Further work is underway to identify additional suitable locations. This includes exploring opportunities on private land to support a viable and well connected scheme.

“Based on current progress, the scheme remains on track for a spring 2026 launch.”
