Unauthorised development in Denmead must come to an end as High Court injunction secured
Mobile homes have been set up on land near Forest Road, the council says.
An unauthorised development on land in Denmead must come to an immediate end after a High Court injunction was secured.
The injunction was granted by the High Court's king's bench division on June 5, after Winchester City Council presented evidence of continued breaches of planning control at a site north of Forest Road.

The injunction places a number of restrictions on activities at the site. These include preventing any further caravans, mobile homes or other forms of residential accommodation from being stationed on the land without planning permission. The order also prohibits residential use of the site, the connection of existing structures to utilities such as septic tanks, and any further building, engineering or development work.
In addition, the importation of materials not connected to lawful agricultural use has been banned under the terms of the injunction.
Councillor Jackie Porter, Winchester City Council's cabinet member for place and the local plan, said: “We are delighted that this injunction has been granted, and it demonstrates that at Winchester City Council we will take firm and decisive action where there are serious and ongoing breaches of planning control.
“We are absolutely committed to protecting our district from unauthorised development and ensuring that development takes place in accordance with the law. Where necessary, we will pursue enforcement through the courts to achieve this.”
The court order will remain in force until June 4, 2028, unless it is amended or discharged by the court. The defendants have also been ordered to pay £6,000 towards the council's legal costs.
The latest ruling follows a temporary injunction granted to the council by the High Court on May 29.
