Temporary disruption to some online council services as Hampshire County Council carries out IT maintenance

Residents are being urged to be prepared

Residents across the region are set to face temporary disruption to some online council services this bank holiday weekend as Hampshire County Council carries out essential IT maintenance.

The work is scheduled from 5pm on Friday 22 May until 11pm on Monday 25 May, covering the late May bank holiday weekend.

During this period, some digital services may not be accessible, although the council has stressed that many core services will continue to operate.

Residents are being advised that the disruption will mainly affect online systems and that in-person and alternative service routes will remain available where needed.

The council says the maintenance is required to ensure the continued security and reliability of its systems, as part of ongoing upgrades to its digital infrastructure.

Several services are expected to remain unaffected, including library opening hours, Household Waste Recycling Centre bookings, and access to outdoor sites such as country parks and Sir Harold Hillier Gardens. Alternative payment methods and emergency safeguarding contact routes will also remain in place.

The authority has urged residents to be cautious about potential scams during the maintenance window, and reminded the public that it will not request sensitive personal information as part of the process.

The upgrade is part of wider work to modernise council systems and improve long-term system reliability.
