Oakleigh Family Centre set to be sold off by county council

A family support centre has been declared surplus to requirements

A family centre site in Havant has been sold off by Hampshire County Council.

The disposal of Oakleigh Family Centre in Dunsbury Way, Leigh Park, was signed off by deputy director of people and organisation Steph Randall. The sale price was not published in the decision record and online listing said the council was seeking offers of at least £275,000.

Officers were given delegated powers to sell the site in March 2024 following a decision by then council leader Rob Humby over streamlining the local authority’s office portfolio.

A report on the decision to dispose of Oakleigh Family Centre said an offer had been received which provided best financial consideration to the council.

The report said: “The decision is in line with the strategic asset management plan that states that the size of the estate is reduced to fit what we need.”

The site has a two-storey building, seven parking spaces and a garden.
