Author and anti-racist activist to host online meeting with Portsmouth residents
AN AUTHOR and anti-racist activist will be holding an online meeting to discuss the Black Lives Matter
Brian Richardson, editor of Say it Loud: Marxism and the Fight Against Racism and author of Bob Marley: Roots, Reggae and Revolution, will host a public meeting via Zoom with the Portsmouth Socialist Workers Party on Wednesday, June 10 from 7.30pm until 9pm.

Jon Woods, secretary of the Portsmouth Branch of the Socialist Workers Party said: ‘The brutal murder of George Floyd has ignited an uprising against racism in the US and beyond.
‘Racism is at very heart of capitalism from the days of slavery to the police never being brought to justice for their violence against Black people. This meeting will look how we can fight racism and fight the system that breeds it. All anti-racists welcome.’
Last week protestors packed Guildhall Square to demonstrate over the killing of African-American George Floyd as well as racism in wider society.
Protests have spread throughout the US and overseas after the death in Minneapolis last month where Mr Floyd, 46, died after he was restrained by a police officer who has now been charged with second-degree murder.
The meeting with Brian Richardson will be held on the Zoom.
People who want to join the meeting can email their name and mobile phone number to [email protected] who will text logon details.
